Marlo

Lisa and her daughter flew from out of state to pick up Marlo and fly her home. They had been searching for the right dog to adopt and Marlo is extra special to them because she is from a colony of dogs that are helping researchers find a treatment and cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a devastating disease that affects dogs and young boys. Marlo is an unaffected carrier of the gene that causes DMD. Lisa tells the story of finding Marlo for adoption the same week her son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy was approved for a promising clinical trial similar to the trial that Marlo’s dog family helped develop, providing hope to Lisa and other families affected by DMD. Marlo is a beautiful dog who loves playing in the snow and cuddling. Thanks, Marlo and Lisa!
