Oscar

Our dapper Oscar has gone home with Jim and Gary in time for the New Year celebrations! He is smitten with his new dads and has settled in beautifully. He has already claimed his spot on the couch with his new toys and blanket!

Oscar is an unaffected carrier of Batten Disease – a fatal, inherited disorder of the nervous system that affects dogs and young children. Children suffering from Batten disease become blind, bedridden and demented; they typically die in their late teens or early twenties. Oscar’s research family is studying gene and enzyme therapies for affected dogs, and an enzyme therapy to treat affected children is currently in clinical trials. Thanks for giving Oscar a loving home, Jim and Gary! Enjoy!
