Jellybean

“I can’t believe Jellybean been here ONE month!” her adopter messaged. “Time is flying! She loves her big brother Ollie and does great with the cats! Big girl teeth are slowly starting to come in too! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œLOVE this girl! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ “

She added that Jellybean likes “chasing the shadows of birds in the tree! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚”

Thanks for the update, and for taking care of your new puppy. We just love the action shot of her cat friend leaping off the porch.

What makes Jellybean a hero?
Jellybean is an unaffected carrier from a colony of dogs with Batten Disease: a fatal, inherited disorder of the nervous system that affects dogs and young children. Children suffering from Batten disease become blind, bedridden and demented; they typically die in their late teens or early twenties. Jellybean’s family and his researchers are studying gene and enzyme therapies for affected dogs, and an enzyme therapy to treat affected children is currently in clinical trials.
